New Services

Our service list has had a bit of a shake up. Not only will we be offering perming this year, but we are also taking a new gender neutral approach to all of our colour and cutting services. After a big increase in enquiries regarding this and with our new years resolution to become the best version of ourselves as stylists, a salon and a company, we decided that this would be the fairest and most unprejudiced way to charge. Cutting has been split into categories according to the type of cut you want i.e. clippers or scissors, whether you want a wash and dry afterwards and the length and density of your hair. This has resulted in a more simple selection of services and is pretty self explanatory. Prices have been set according to time, expenses and technique for each service and the stylist reserves the right to decide and change which service is suitable to your style or requirement upon arrival and consultation. If you need any help booking or just want to enquire about the new concept please don’t hesitate to give us a call at the shop. Any one of us will be more than happy to discuss.

New Prices

Accompanying this menu shake up is a slight price change. A lower price tier has been added to many of our colour services and other services have increased. This is to accommodate our gender neutral approach as well as over heads as will be explained below.

Whilst we have only been open for 2 years and strive to always keep prices affordable, the fast growing community we are situated in and demand for our services has increased greatly over this year. While that has been profitable and allowed us to grow our team to a full capacity it has also incurred heavy extra outgoings. The main one being VAT.

We never expected to be at a point that exceeded the annual exemption cap after such a short time trading and will therefore have to increase our prices by 20% to account for this. There are lots of new services on the menu now which have been priced accordingly, some seeing a drop in price. But we promise that the staple services we have always offered have only increased by 20%. We hope that you understand this is a necessity for us to continue as a business the way we have been and that the increased only reflects taxes and does not include a profit.

New Products

We have welcomed a few new products to our family this year. Starting off as sole Davines styling brand ambassador we have also welcomed Oway earlier in the year and then Evo more recently. Both of these brand along with Davines are vegan and share the same ethos with regards to sustainability and the environment.

We will also be making a switch with the majority of our colour and bleach products from L’Oreal to Davines. We will still be keeping some L’Oreal colours (vivid coppers and dia light staples) but we have decided to switch to a company that uses more natural, organic ingredients and is not affiliated with any kind of animal testing. Davines’ colour chart is a very close match to L’Oreal and is of the same quality and standard when it comes to results. Their bleach and peroxide products also include an integrated version of their own brand bonding treatment, meaning that bleach services will be safer even without using conventional brands such as Olaplex or Innoluxe as an add on. As this is a new brand of colour we will need to patch test existing as well as new clients for sensitivity before carrying out a colour service.

Evo has replaced our wax and texture styling products as well as a few serums and creams such as their smoothing and cuticle sealing products, for a luxurious and soft finish.

The new year will also see us adding Evos Fab Pro range. This is a tailored to your hair colour conditioner to take home and use in between bookings to keep your colour fresh and your hair in top condition. Again, this product is vegan, sustainable and not tested on animals. For more information on Fab Pro visit their website at http://www.evohair.co.uk/stockist/evofabpro/

New Year Resolution

As mentioned above, we have a New Year resolution at Harber Hair to becoming better stylists and a better company with regards to the environment. We are therefore trying to provide an eco friendly service as well as products. One of these changes will include introducing Paper not foil instead of traditional aluminium foil as one of the tools we will use for bleaching services. As the name suggest these are made from recycled paper and can be reused up to 3 times before being recycled again. For more information on this product visit their website at https://papernotfoil.co.uk/#section-1

We will be introducing eco heads on our backwash basins to reduce the amount of water that we use each service and are also looking into a retail product refill service where possible to reduce distribution and packaging waste.

There will inevitably be some things that we cannot change or cut down on, but where we can we will find a way to reduce our carbon footprint and strive for a better eco and sustainability rating as a salon.

Our mission: hair care the natural way!

We pride ourselves for using only organic, paraben and sulphate free, sustainable products in our salon, and are always looking for new ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Most of our products are also completely vegan, and we now stock a fully vegan colour range to use alongside a few favourite L'Oreal Professional products. Our stylists will always consult with you the brand they use prior to application, but please do mention before hand if you have a preference.
